Where's the running shoes?

Since the last blog, EJ has learned to walk and almost jog at times.  There is much new-found freedom with this mobility, and some not-so-fun limits too.   A few pictures of the summer adventures...

EJ's vocabulary is growing daily!  There is nothing more adorable than hearing him say "tank oo"!
EJ's other big first is starting school last week.  He has remarkable teachers who are studying child development at the graduate level and are very sweet.  EJ seems to have adjusted well and his teachers and the staff at Sonshine have made the transition easy for all of us.

We know one thing for sure after 17 months...EJ is all boy!!
Thanks for keeping up with us!

Ahhh, we welcome you Spring!

I didn't realize what a bad case of cabin fever I had until the recent warm weather gave us new options to play outside!! EJ loves going on walks with Champ, wagon rides in the backyard and blowing bubbles on the back porch. EJ can say "jet" as they fly by from a nearby Naval Base, and he'll say "choo, choo" when he hears a train coming.

Ah, basking in the sun!

Yummy!

Texas Bluebonnets!

Happy boy!

EJ's milk goatee.

Toes on the table?!?

We are having a blast with this little guy and are amazed at how he is growing and developing daily!  We love you so much, EJ!

One Year Old! YeeHaw!

We celebrated EJ's 1st birthday on Sunday!  Our little cowboy is a year old...hard to believe.

It is incredible to think about what has transpired over the last year.  I have flashes of smiles, sleepless nights, snuggles and so many precious moments.
EJ is becoming a little person with so much personality.  It doesn't take too long to figure out that he likes to size things up before he makes his moves.  He likes music (which is no surprise) and he keeps us entertained with his contant jabber.  He is such a fun kid!

He has started pulling up on things and seems pretty proud of himself.

He got his own rocker for his birthday (thanks Lito and Lita)!

You can tell we hang out in our pj's a lot...

I am so proud to be EJ's mom!

Whew!  What a year!

EJ's 10 months old today!

Well, at 8 months he was 2/3 and 23lbs. He has maintained tremendous growth over the last 2 months and is more fun than ever!

We had great fun over the holidays...the first Christmas will be a memorable one!

Not a huge fan of the snow

So much of what EJ does these days tell us he is his own little person...

On the move...

Isn't he a doll?

We won't wait so long until next update!!

A few moments with the little man...

Just wanted to share this precious little video. It captures his joy. I have a similar joy as we begin a new season in our journey as a family. I only have a few more days as a full time employee at HealthSouth before transitioning to full time mom. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve for the last 8 years in that place. I will take with me the impressions of so many amazing individuals I have met along the way and will continue to practice OT as a home health therapist. It will allow me the flexibility of staying at home most days with EJ! Yay!!!!

More fun!

EJ is enjoying himself!! He loves to eat his cereal and has two teeth coming in!

He loves his bath time and can splash the water all by himself!

And he wears such stylish big boy clothes when we go out.

EJ is so much fun and we love sharing a few highlights that we capture along the way!

Go Blues!

The first quarter...

EJ turned 4 months last week and his development over the past month has blown our minds! I can't believe what he can do now and how he is interacting with his world! EJ loves to play, loves to talk (in his language, of course), he loves to chew on his hands, and play with rattles, he sticks out his tongue, and he loves to smile and laugh at us! He notices when Champ is nearby and he loves looking outside. EJ is showing us so much more of who he is!
He loves his exersaucer.
We are so grateful to have such a healthy and happy boy!
